The Raging Patriot

Lately at my work, I’ve been training a few people who are in line to be moved up. Of the four that I’ve trained thus far not one of them is even remotely computer literate, has a basic grasp of basic math, or can spell worth a damn. Tell me, how the hell do you get by in life without being able to take 5, times it by 50, and then add 11? How is it that you can be in your 30’s and not know how to spell the word edition? How the fuck does that happen?

Now, to be sure I’m still being kind to these people, but it’s difficult sometimes. When I’m handed some idiot to be trained I should be training them how to do the job not giving them a crash-course in basic computer know-how(windows file structure, saving, opening and closing documents), simple addition, multiplication, division, and subtraction and the simple cognitive skills required to know why you have to multiply one number by another to find out some information. I shouldn’t be asking them to fill in some document and have them develop a thousand yard stare and have spit accumulate on their lip over the word insert. 

Which brings me to a whole other topic. People who are that stupid should not be able to vote. In order to vote, to participate in the direction in which our country will evolve, you should have to prove that you are able to have basic reasoning skills. If you are too stupid or lazy to educate yourself, then you shouldn’t be voting.

But that’s a whole other topic.
