Utah Bicycler Kills Moterist

Reading this story one is struck by the tragedy for sure. But, the reality is that DOUCHE BAGS ON BIKES SHOULD NOT BE ON THE FUCKING HIGHWAY!!!

I especially like how the killer on a bike is glorified by this rag:

Robert “Bob” Bennett, 47, died doing one of his favorite things: riding hard.

He was pedaling through Sardine Canyon Friday afternoon, part of his training regimen for his third Lotoja Race from Logan to Jackson Hole, when he was killed in an automobile collision. The tragic crash also took the lives of a new mother and her 12-day-old baby.

“He loves to ride his bike and that’s how he died,” said Bennett’s 16-year-old daughter, Michelle, Saturday.

You have to get a bit further down in the story though to get to the meat of it:

The Utah Highway Patrol said Bennett was struck by a northbound Oldsmobile when, according to witness accounts, he steered into traffic while attempting to make a U-turn on U.S. Highway 89/91 near the Cache and Box Elder county line.

The collision caused the Oldsmobile to swerve into oncoming traffic, where it was broadsided by a Chevy pickup, according to UHP. Killed in the crash were Trudy Middleton, 38, of West Valley City and her son, Norrison Deschner. Middleton’s husband, Michael Middleton, was driving the Oldsmobile - and was the only one in the car to survive.

Yeah, that’s right. Some idiot on a bike riding down a highway made for FUCKING CARS causes the death of two innocent people.

Bicyclers don’t have to pay licensing fees, they don’t contribute shit to the maintenance of highways, they are a danger to everyone, yet they are allowed to ride on the roads and highways with all the impunity of real, gas-guzzling cars.

Something that I was also thinking about with regards to this tragedy is the fact that bicyclers also aren’t required to have insurance. So, this blithering idiot causes a crash that kills himself and two innocent people (the bicycler doesn’t matter) and the survivor is left with what? Oh wait, I’ll tell you. He’s left with a dead wife and child. If another vehicle had caused this crash the survivor would be able to get some compensation from the insurance policy of the killer vehicle.

So, there you have it; bicyclers aren’t required to contribute to the building and maintenance of our highways, they aren’t required to register their stupid bikes, and they aren’t required to carry insurance to cover victims of their negligence, yet they have all the legal rights to be on the highways as any car.

Bullshit I tell you, bullshit.
